Thessaloniki is served by Macedonia International Airport (SKG) for international and domestic flights. The airport is conveniently located 15 km southeast of the city center and is connected directly with a number of international destinations in Austria, Germany, Cyprus, Belgium, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Russia, Turkey, and several other European countries.

With direct connections to a number of hub airports in Europe (Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Vienna, London, Istanbul, Paris, Rome, Milan, and others), it is possible to reach Thessaloniki from almost any major airport worldwide with just one intermediate stop. There are also more than 10 direct daily connections between Thessaloniki and Athens, which in turn can also be easily reached with direct flights from many international destinations. Some of the airlines flying to Thessaloniki are Ryanair, Aegean, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, and EasyJet. Visitors from neighboring or close-by countries (Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, and Serbia) may consider other options as well (e.g., bus, train, and car).
